My organization, Huskies for Free Speech released a statement advocating against mandatory trigger warnings. This shouldn’t be hard to read- it’s less than a page long. It shortly gives a few reasons why making trigger warnings mandatory are not desirable, and it makes no claim about whether teachers can use trigger warnings if they want.
UConn has recently gone test-optional. The SAT isn’t perfect, but I can’t help but think that we’re starting to see the fruits of lower standards.
