Thinking Outside The Box

What are you good at?

I’ve been an oddball since I was a wee lad. I always enjoyed taking the assumptions of what I was allowed to do and interrogating them.

This was not an academic exercise. I learned to run before I learned to walk. The bars on my windows to keep me safe were climbed as though I was Godzilla. I turned hairspray into a flamethrowers, colored outside the lines, and disdained traditional toys.

This attitude has allowed me to achieve what I want, and narrowly tailor my life to my strengths. When I recognized that I wanted to help improve free speech culture, I just did. Instead of complaining about feeling lonely when I made a massive move, I turned it into a business.

I think a major part of this has to do with my not-so-present father, and my patriarchal mother. My untraditional childhood has taught me that you can break reality and that things aren’t always what they seem. I bring that perspective everywhere I go.
