Broccoli and Broccoli and Broccoli

Sometimes nutrition isn’t the most fun. Variety is exciting but consistency is challenging. This is why you probably shouldn’t be fancy when approaching diet, and instead opt for boring and a lot.

I’m able to eat as much as I want, provided it’s broccoli, celery, or carrots. This balances variety with health, and I find myself eating lots of the same. I get my fiber aggressively, and by comparison, even things like beans seem exciting.

In a sense, eating loads of broccoli is a dopamine detoxification. You grow to appreciate the tiny sprouts, the flavor, the specks of salt and pepper. Anything helps whether it’s lemons or beans. Now, you feel snazzy when eating a slice of bread.

Life is good. Your energy levels start to stabilize. Your resting heart rate continues to drop. Mine is 54. I look and feel slightly better most of the time and often get compliments on my muscles.

Life is simple when I eat broccoli. I know exactly what I’m putting in my body, I know the price. I know what I’m getting, soggy vegetables.

Life is cheap when I eat broccoli. Broccoli has a way of down regulating your taste. Who needs something fancy to be impressed when the alternative is broccoli.

Life is broccoli when I eat broccoli. I’m one with the plant.
