There’s this obnoxious habit a lot of people have of consistently showing up 20-40 minutes late to things.
I like to let people know that when they do that, they aren’t being respectful of my time.
My time is worth between 100-200 an hour, at least when my employer bills for me. So, the idea that I waste half an hour sitting around is kind of unconscionable to me.
I’ve started to let people know that my going rate for time is a lot. I could be working or developing my businesses when people show up late, and frankly I’d probably be doing that.
I’m sure this is going to be a bit of an adjustment for my friends who do this, but it’s a necessary corrective.
