Hosting standup comedy is so much fun! Doing it gives you instant credibility, you get to practice your stuff, and it’s a great way of getting your presence built.
You don’t really need to be good at comedy to introduce people well. Instead, you just need to express earnestness, and people love it. You get to play into your strengths, tell silly stories, make people feel noticed.
You win by making other people look great. As a project manager, my entire job is to make people feel great about doing their work. I would do it all the time, because I love letting people feel recognized.
