The TSA, one of America’s most venerated institution is under attack by anti-American communist sympathizers. As I waited on line waiting to come online, I noticed lots of grumbling at the amount of time that the TSA was taking.
Critics complain that the TSA’s power undermines efficiency, speed, and due process. What these critics fail to realize is that the warm security blanket of ‘safety’ conquers all. It is paramount. What use is freedom if the terrorists win? Ben Franklin could never comprehend the psychic benefits that come from giving up freedom for the lofty ideal of psychological comfort.
While we’re at this critical juncture, it’s important to remember that America was founded not merely on the consequences of action, but instead on values like expedience and seeing things through. When critics point out that the TSA regularly fails to actually screen weapons, drugs, etc; that the TSA takes the supposedly dangerous material and combines it in a nearby trash receptacle; or that massive lines of people are easy targets; what the critics are really saying is that they want to endanger you.
So, next time the TSA is targeted, remember the issues stem from insufficient resources, a hostile and belligerent public, and a traitorous media.
