Leadership is Finding and Focusing on a Problem

Do you see yourself as a leader?

There is no divine mandate, so the next best thing is to find a common cause and work together to build something awesome.

Since I’m a cvetcher, and I actually want to seize control and get the problems I don’t like solved, I must lead, at least some of the time. The magnitude of my leadership ability depends on how much people want to listen to me.

I think leadership is also to some extent a skill. The more you can direct people or help them see the bigger picture, the easier it is to get them to do what you want. Acknowledging someone’s perspective can help get them to listen to you, and the more you understand other people, the better you can lead.

There’s different types of leadership but I don’t find myself very good at all of them. I don’t like servant leadership. I do like visionary leadership and focusing on giving autonomy through pushing and coaching.
