Recently, I’ve been trying to figure out where on the margin I can reduce the amount of seed oils and ultraprocessed food I’m consuming without spending tons of time or money making stuff that I can stomach.
Yesterday, I bought a fryer chicken and cooked it with tons of spices in my kitchen. It was a resounding success. This was among the more tender chicken I’ve consumed, and none of the fats that I don’t want are there, unless big food has an even more nefarious plan to harm me than their most dastardly plan, Tofurkey. When I eat more animal products, particularly omega-3, especially from sources that rely less on corn, I feel better and stronger. It feels a little weird to just eat butter once in a while, but I do think something relating to ketosis helps me, although not sure why.
As I cut down on processed sugars, I notice that my energy levels are rising slowly, and my taste for the sugars is decreasing. Plus, I’m less hungry in general. When you eat out less, you begin to realize how much everything has added to it. Less salt and less sugar means more health, and more willingness to go outside.
A few things I’ve been doing wrong recently. I’ve been having energy drinks again, which messes with my sleep, I’ve been enjoying maple syrup occasionally, and I still need to keep on doing strength training, particularly squats.
