I’ve been taking anti-balding medication since I was 16. CVS charges almost 300 dollars for a 90 day supply, and while it seemed worth it to continue taking, the mark-up is unconscionable. In the same way that Amazon has revitalized the online shopping experience, purchasing medication online is objectively better than buying in person because of economies of scale and increased competition.
Including shipping, I’d be paying less than 10 dollars to get this delivered to my door. While I still had to get my doctor on the phone, and not all medications are able to be delivered in this fashion, the cost-premium on in-person medication is insane. Until downward pressure is applied to places like CVS, the price will remain high. Even Costco’s cost 3-4 times what it would be online.
I’m absolutely shocked that CVS’s prices are that expensive, and going forward, I’m never going to buy medication from them again, if possible.
