Standardized test scores makes a huge difference in where your kid can go to college, and the scholarships that they win. Literally, tens of thousands of dollars often hang in the balance with the test scores people obtain.
I remember taking the new SAT in 2017, and having no idea what I was supposed to do, or what strategies I was supposed to follow. I came from a lower-middle class, single parent household, and I was worried that failing at the SAT would make it hard to go to a good school.
I didn’t know which resources to take advantage of, so I read them all for tips and strategies to improve my score. With a little bit of hard work and time spent studying, I managed to obtain a 1500+ score.
I know, from my own experience, that it’s possible to improve one’s score A LOT. I wanted to make sure that I could help others get similarly high scores.
I work full-time in technology, and get paid well. So, for me, I started tutoring as a passion project, a way of giving back.
