Where are the male romance novels?

Listen, I’m going to let you in on a bit of a secret. Us men like romance as well.

Since I moved, I have confided to several of my friends that I enjoy romance plots, especially Pride and Prejudice. Surprisingly, most of my friends also like the romantic plots.

Does this mean that the gender binary/ick culture/patriarchy doesn’t exist? I have no idea, but I do know that stereotypes that men don’t like romantic literature aren’t universally true.

I find it surprising that we don’t really see romance novels ever target the male eye. I know that men have cash money, and also like to read.

What I’ve found as possible matches The Time Traveler’s Wife, Outlander, Kushiel’s Dart, Agnes and the Hitman, My Legendary Girlfriend.

Personally, I tend to enjoy very strong, intriguing dialogue, and would like to see an emotional romp through a relationship. I very much enjoyed Dinner With Andre, even though it doesn’t fit into the genre, and would much appreciate some serious lit in the area.
